Hold the Applause

My achievements give me no arrogance.
I need not indulge in self-praise romance.
The world's troubles give me no time to prance.
I only think of children fighting wars,
Desperate robbers who hurt to steal cars,
Those predestined for a life behind bars.
Thoughts of world war two destroy all delight.
Fifty-eight million deaths shape my heart's plight.
Senseless bloodbath torment my dreams each night.
Greedy people seek grandiosity.
Recognition feeds their pomposity.
My heart's treasure is generosity.
My life does not require a pat me on the back clause.
Sincerity drives all my efforts, so hold the applause.
