Nothing left but an empty picture frame.
Hopes and dreams that went up in flames.
The picture of you and me ceases to exist,
Like a dream disappearing into the mist.

The picture perfect you is an illusion,
Leaving me in disbelief and seclusion.
Foolishness prevented me to see,
The power you had over me.

Tempting me with love and affection,
Ending with feelings of rejection.
Taking away the picture in my mind,
Of a true love I cannot seem to find.

Taking back the love, you proclaimed.
Leaving me broken and never the same.
Nothing left for me to reclaim,
But an empty picture frame.
