If Thou Shalt Let Me

I cannot tell you how this love came to pass.  I can not tell you of it's creation, for I do not understand those things. And I  have no desire to have an understanding of those things.  I can tell you of it's depth, of it's strength, and of it's future.  You are my love and you will always be my love.  How can I know this? Because I could no more choose to stop loving you anymore than I chose to love you in the first place.  Whether or not I see you upon arising, or lay down with you at the end of the day, my love will never cease nor subside nor lessen.  My love for you exists, it is and it does. And for as long as there is breath in my body, I shall be next to you my beloved...always by your side, regardless of what is ahead or behind us.  If the time should ever come, my heart, and you should stumble and fall to your knees, I shall go down with you. Whether the burden that has brought on your fall be physical, financial or emotional, you shall never be alone, or without me.  Not only will I be there with my arms around you, but I will struggle diligently to lift you to your feet.  I will search most desperately for answers or solutions that will enable us to stand tall and move forward.  If, my love, the answers do not come readily, then I shall remain down, on my knees, wiping your brow as we labor to overcome our inability to arise with the quickness and agility that we both seek.  Rest assured my Darling, that if the duration of our situation is lengthy, then I shall be there to reinforce your belief that we must move forward, even though that progress can only be achieved by crawling forward mere inches at a time.  If it proves necessary that I must leave your side, even for the briefest of moments, it will only be because I am in front of you, pulling with all that I have, or behind you, pushing and supporting you with equal strength.  I am wise enough to know that you are strong and most capable without me, but your strength and your capabilities shall be doubled because of my love for you. Then my love, if for whatever reason, you have chosen a path that leads you to the very edge of the highest of cliffs, and your decision is to continue over the edge rather than return on the path that has led us there in the first place, then just know, that I shall take your hand, and we shall jump together...never without each other...and never alone.
