I Will Take An Egg Out Of The Robin's Nest

Walt Whitman 1819 (West Hills) – 1892 (Camden)

I WILL take an egg out of the robin's nest in the orchard,
   I will take a branch of gooseberries from the old bush in the garden,
         and go and preach to the world;
   You shall see I will not meet a single heretic or scorner,
   You shall see how I stump clergymen, and confound them,
   You shall see me showing a scarlet tomato, and a white pebble from
         the beach.

    I think that the simple things of life offer us deep insights. We can learn wisdom from seemingly simple objects... like a tomato or a peebles from the beach. Irrespective of our religious views, things like trees or the sea, are universal and if there are lessons to learn, there can barely be heresy in them.
