Yellow

Yellow

the sliver of light that shines through the peak of the curtains

Softly caressing the frame of my face
illuminating all that falls under this blanket of warmth

Bless the Sun for gazing upon this little corner of the world.
My little corner, in my little world

Another day has come & past

My oh my how time goes so fast

Rattling of sounds playing against my ear
in my head, circling round and round
far and near
interrupting the fond thoughts of you my dear

Another day has come

The silence fills these four walls full of sorrow

Satin curtains waltz with the gentle breeze promising tomorrow

The movement now a focal point for the gaze to rest upon

Each second creating a minute & each minute an hour

An Hour

Hours

Hours my subconscious lay dormant

How long have I been laying here?

Stretching my hands across the spread
opposite of me an empty spot in the bed

Laying in the center will I still feel lonely?

Neglect the grief that lie inside me

Don't ponder on it so much

Close your eyes
smell the flowers you once touched

Remember Yellow

Bright & Encompassing

Warm
Translucent
Full

For you fill my heart with joy

Your hand in mine

An interlocking of Serenity

To think it impossible for one to be touching the sun

To give life to something that had no inclination of it being dead

For you are in all that surrounds me

Particles of sand touching the soles of my feet

Sounds of leaves rustling in my ear

Wide open blue sk(eyes)
the air in my breath for my lungs to inhale

Oh how I miss the summer

When did the night fall?

How the winters last so long in darkness

A sigh escapes my lips

"Oh how I miss the summer"
For being with you

Touching the sun was an action no longer thought to be impossible

I like things that have double meaning, things that make you take a second look, ponder a little deeper, and touch your heart. Poetry is something I've always loved. I had no idea i could put my poems anywhere until a friend told me about this website. Please enjoy more…
