What were you doing

I was looking around trying to find my keys my teeth my glasses, everything that helps the day go by.
Then, I remembered with such clarity what I was doing on 9/11.  Did I pay the phone bill this month? What was I doing last week?
I have no idea it blurs away in the day to day.
But what I was doing on that fearful day is burnt indeliably in a memory you could only wish was just a dream, or, better still a nightmare played out on the big screen of life.
We recall the events that have the greatest impact on our lives.
The day I set off in the world to find my own way.
The day I joined my life with the man whose name I took.
The days I was blessed with children.
Their weight their length, the size of their head, what time of day my blessing began.
And, what I was doing on 9-11.  I still feel the desperation in the voice echoing over and over in my mind, "Oh my God, they hit the towers!!."

I was sitting in a call center talking to some from NY who was watching it first hand. So, in a way I was there too. Holding her hand, crying and praying with her.
