The Bubble

Robert Frost 1874 (San Francisco) – 1963 (Boston)

I blew myself a bubble that was bigger than myself
and I floated off inside it to the top most shelf
And there i saw before me with my own two eyes,
Half a hundred jam pots and four dead flies.
I blew myself a bubble that was bigger than Pa Pah .
He floated off inside it to a place afar.

unfortunately age has got the better of me and this is as much as I can remember now but I'm sure more will come back to me when I sleep.

About this poem

This poem was one of the first ones I performed as a nervous seven year old but it is still one of my favourites.

I remember another one that addressed bureaucracy in Ants. Brilliant irony. On our honeymoon 1974, we were in Vermont. Morgan horses. Colourful autumn. Friendly people. The old haunts of Robert Frost. And us…Doug Blair
