Off the Charts

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Though the Word says believe and then you will see
The world says show me and then I’ll believe
If you want to see God you must first then believe
And turn toward the Son so your life is retrieved

Retrieved from a world that has hardened your hearts
And blinded your eyes and put you on its charts
If the Son couldn’t save you God would have told you
But he said follow Jesus and to him remain true

The religion of this world seeks to deaden your hearts
To call you its own and put you on its charts
But Jesus calls you plainly from unchartable seas
He says turn and I’ll heal you, then come, follow Me
