A lesson of lessons

Once upon a time, I was given the moon and the stars!
But I only wanted to stand in the sun! Once upon a time, I didn’t have to worry or fret about my anything! But I wanted the world and everything in it!
Once upon a time, I was showered with love and affection! But I only wanted admiration and attention!
Once upon a time, a few hearts broke because of my words and actions! But I couldn’t see past my multiple infatuations!
As time moved on I decided to make amends for my wrongs but this time I was the only one holding on! I was told to wait just a little while longer!
Now the time has come for me to feel the pains of the time once I was wrong!
But I have acknowledged the messages of the sad songs all the while time is long gone!
My lesson has been learned but a cycle to end is how I become strong!
To forgive me is to set me freely onto a path on which I belong! Some dreams aren’t meant to be and some fears have to be released!
I love me even when there’s no you beside me!
