The Man in the Iron Mask

When you look at my picture,
What do you see?
A man of means, and of wealth?
Yes! in good health.
My posture exudes such pride,
Nothing to hide.

Educated in top schools,
I am no fool.
However, there is a truth.
Known by the sleuth.
I am a man of no means.
So poor, it seems.

I use my master's best clothes
To feel big, bold.
The garbs help me with my task.
A goodly mask;
Made only of perception,
Oh deception!

This disguise, like a prison.
Don't want freedom.
Trapped by my dreams of success
This is my best.
Now jailed by wishful thinking
My life, stinking.

Like the story of the man,
His face hidden.
Covered by an iron mask.
