Sexual Assault

Small and naive
Without knowledge of what this is
She stood still
As this feeling runs through her body
It's something cringe

Some memories can never be forgotten
Like when Uncle Jide went too far
When he touched the button
When he was creating marks and forever scars
And still, all this while he acted like it was nothing

He'd call me his favorite, his favorite person
Little did I know that all Uncle Jide had to offer was poison
Uncle Jide kept caressing, he kept caressing my body
But oh, who can I confide in, who can I confide in
Who would believe in me, who wouldn't think I was lying
Everyone would support Uncle Jide like he was the victim

Uncle Jide saw the way I was growing
He couldn't control it
He couldn't control the burning desire
The burning desire for my body
He wanted more than the usual caressing
He wanted to be the person
The person to break this virgin

This day he came, fully prepared
Like someone going on a mission
What's the color of his shirt, something like the color red
He's come to devour, devouring was his mission

I could see the lust in his eyes
He had waited so long for this day
It's the day he finally goes into the mines
Oh, so much pain
I've never felt this way
Uncle Jide has caused me so much pain

Later at night I lay in my bed crying
If only I had someone to tell I was dying
If only there was someone who'd believe me when I said I wasn't lying
Now something has been broken, my hymen
I'm now scared of these creatures, men

I can't seem to live with this trauma
Thoughts keep coming into my head
Telling me to end my life, now a drama
All I wanted was for everything to end

Finally, my mind is made up
Staring at the pills beside my bed
I knew I was finally giving up
I knew I as a living being was no better off than the dead

Nobody is going to understand
Uncle Jide has taken all I had
My dignity was everything that made me a woman
Losing it has only made me sad

Swallowing the pills
Cause I know this is the only way to heal
Heal from all the trauma and pain
I hope I'm treated better in the grave
