Lovers in the Rain

Lovers in the rain

A wet Monsoon May
Chilly drizzling day
Intention is to walk n exercise, amidst the rain
Lovers, embrace, ignoring the trickle rain
Amidst the ecstasy of their clasp
Couples ignoring the droplets of rain have invaded the park
To drink the nectar of love with burning passion to mark
Can I ignore these passionate souls?
Under the lush trees
Between the burly bushes
On the wooden benches
My voyeur traits to the fore
Sneaking a peek with a squinted brow
It’s their day, so why should they seek cover
Their love seem so earnest, needing no intervening cover
Let them in peace be, locked in blissful embrace
I walk head held high, dreaming of an orbiting heart
It’s their day in May
Let’s leave the lovers alone to savor their day!

About this poem

My admiration of lovers in a public park. Compiled by me in 2016. I was inspired to write this poem after doing a walk in the morning in the midst of a drizzle .
