Millennium memories

Old scars bleed sometimes
When you scratch them too hard
On lonely nights
Your memories like a dagger
Plunge into my heart
My blood stains the heathers red
So I lock these memories
And throw them at sea
Lost with the tides i wish they might be
Like a treasure lost at sea
Perhaps one day they'll be found again
By a young sailor
Whose maiden awaits on shore
And he will gift this treasure to his lover
Young and in love
Just like as you and I used to be

About this poem

The poem is about a heartbroken lover whose love didn't withstand the might of time. He is haunted by the memories of his lover, and having no one to share his feelings, he writes this poem as a desperate attempt to escape the suffering he is going through
