Phenomenal Woman

Phenomenal woman,
Indeed! The universe says you are;
Without glitz or fanfare attached
You were, born a true star.

Humility and unemblazoned poise,
Still your greatest traits;
You alone complement your truest self,
No need for affirming mates.

Phenomenal woman,
That prized ancient scroll;
Wrapped in your sacred delicate pages,
Such wisdom to unfold.

Your beauty defies your age,
Wholesome mystique outweighs raw magic;
Mistaking you on any day for just a lady,
For our planet would be so tragic.

    I see elements of the poem in your work. I think poems and prose have different characteristics. Over here, I see a lot of storytelling in the form of prose which helps amateurs like me learn quickly but I still know both differ. Fine work here.

    PC politics and timeliness is not poetry. Gag me, what passes for art here is ... unfathomable.

    "You alone complement your truest self" - As a woman, I find these words especially beautiful and true. Thank you for your clarity.
