The Vine

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The Lord will stand at my right hand
And comfort me while in this land
He’ll be my shade and my delight
And give to me the light of life

For all my strength will come out from Him
In all my praise because I love Him
I’ll do whatever He commands
And on His Word, I’ll take my stand

I will not compromise to please
This world which only makes me grieve
But I will stand to sing His praise
In all of these my final days

The fruit will grow out from the Vine
Because His Word I have made mine
