Pandemic of Pandemic!

Call it pandemic.
Pandemic of Pandemic!
Man of flesh and blood.
Bartering with unknown realms.
His body, soul, and spirit.

Call it pandemic.
Our genders determined.
No more by nature.
But by our own selves.
We are what we say we are.

 Read all about it!
This existential crisis.
That faces us all.
In a world turned upside down.
With everything unstable.

Man in confusion.
Bartering his own gender.
As male or female.
Or even as transgendered.
Gender negotiated.

Gender is questioned.
Identity uncertain.
Fluidity rules.
Nothing is stationary.
And all is chimerical.

The real pandemic.
That faces humanity.
Is loss of core Self.
Egos now ruling fiercely.
At sacrifice of psyche.

In this century.
Identity uncertain.
We face a crisis.
With ego now so pompous.
Devoted to destruction.

Destruction of Self.
The core of our foundation.
Leaving mere shadows.
That replace our own true selves.
Figures without images.

This pandemic.
 Dangerously virulent.
Is a succubus.
Leaving us as walking ghosts.
Bereft of soul and spirit.

The “dead” among us.
All seek innocent victims.
Those full of spirit.
Like young children growing up.
Targets for a “Brave New World.”

We need to wake up.
From this hideous nightmare.
Now our pandemic.
More hideous than others.
Destroying soul and spirit.

A voice of conscience.
Appeals for us to listen.
To now turn inwards.
Where the Self is awaiting.
To restore all to wholeness.

The real pandemic.
Pandemic of the ego.
Psyche co-opted.
By coup d’etat of ego.
An existential crisis.

Ego gone amok.
Celebration of the flesh.
Over the Spirit.
No better thing left for man.
Than eat, drink, and be merry.

Bereft of morals.
We are now empty vessels.
Led by our egos.
Waxed with serpentine forked tongues.
That say we are immortal.

We have become gods.
Lords of our own desires.
All for sake of flesh.
With our spirits sacrificed.
Devoid of what is sacred.

Convinced by deceit.
That we have innate wisdom.
Supplied by angels.
Those more fallen than ever.
Courting us with falsities.

World in transition.
New ethics of behavior.
Ideology.
Concerning ‘transgender cure.’
As option for our children.

Children targeted.
Even as pre-teenagers.
With hormone treatment.
To block their normal sex growth.
Schools co-opted in this cause.

‘Gender Dysphoria.’
A DSM5 label.
Is a prescription.
A novel diagnosis.
For gender deviation.

Sex assigned at birth.
Viewed to engender.
Psychological distress.
A psychiatric problem.
In terms of identity.

 Transgender females.
Born biological males.
Outperforming girls.
In all competitive sports.
With “non-binary” genders.

Science falling prey,
To a false omniscience.
‘New’ realities.
Gender negotiated.
We have become our own gods.

Our sex redefined.
For political motives.
Such is the nature.
Of this man-made pandemic.
Affecting what is ‘marriage.’

Are people blinded.
Refusing to see the truth.
For sake of ego.
For political reasons
And for their personal gain?

The law’s ‘solution.’
Gender is now redefined.
‘Non-determinate.’
Laws of nature suspended.
Preserving human egos.

The apple bitten.
Man’s sight has now been shadowed.
By snake venom cure.
Man, now exiled from Eden.
And from the likeness of God.

With demonic rule.
Order of the universe.
Is transmogrified.
With ‘Alternative Structures.’
The paradigm is shifted.

We live on fault lines.
Where everything is shaky.
Morals included.
We have ears that do not hear.
And eyes that no longer see.

Who will thus listen.
To Truth greater than ego.
Who will dare to see.
Lies passing off as ‘The Truth,’
And question ‘Authority.’

Truth is compromised.
When lies are elevated.
Making a mockery.
Of what our senses tell us:
Differences of the sexes.

Where is discernment,
All blind and without seeing.
In this Brave New World.
Of our pandemic making.
Our egos now inflated.

Coup d’etat of Self.
Pandemic of Pandemic!
Ego gone amok.
Forbidden Fruit now consumed.
And Truth is turned upside down.

Apostasy rules.
Laws of man is what governs.
Spirit overlooked.
The unseen realm discounted.
Only what can be ‘measured.’

Man becomes ‘The Word.’
The Alpha and Omega.
The All Knowing Self.
A man of omniscience.
Superseding God’s wisdom.

Woe is foolish man.
His ‘wisdom’ is his folly.
Blinded by a sight.
That is of his own making.
Nothing more than a mirage.

Truth has been eclipsed.
By ethical falsities.
The lie is crowned king.
Man in God’s image tarnished.
‘Til God returns in glory.

Call it pandemic.
Pandemic of Pandemic!
Man of flesh and blood.
Bartering with unknown realms.
His body, soul, and spirit.

About this poem

Despite the raging, persistent worldwide prevalence of COVID-19, the real and more virulent pandemic of our modern age and civilization is an existential problem: the pandemic of the ego, diverged from psyche and out of balance with the order of nature. At issue in the discussion of the contents of this sensitive poem, “Pandemic of Pandemic,” are the following: Ethics and Morality, Human Rights, Personality Behaviors and Disorders, Gender Identity, Social Etiquettes, Cultural Mores, Political Disputes, Religious Disposition, Child Rearing and Educational Development, Family Relationships, The Psychology of Human Behavior. Historically, the New Testament Apostle Saint Paul addressed the pandemic of the ego in the book of Romans 7:14-25, and in Colossians 3:1-24, appealing to the societies of his day to examine themselves and their existential apostasy. These and other related topics continue more than ever to haunt modern world societies. Rather than be ignored and set aside, they require of us as thinking human beings to engage in healthy conscientious debate on the issues of what this poem argues is facing us as the “Pandemic of Pandemic.” Man, his ego without reins and out of control, has now abandoned his maker and made himself in the image of his own selfish likeness.
