Love must be sincere.
According to Romans Twelve.
Verses nine to twelve.
Love must despise all hatred.
Honor others above self.
Love must be zealous.
Of spiritual fervor.
Without jealousy.
Joyful in hope — and patient.
Ever faithful in prayer.
Sharing with others.
Love is not proud or haughty.
Is hospitable.
And is never conceited.
Seeks harmony with others.
Love does what is right.
Is the peacemaker for all.
Is not revengeful.
Overcomes evil with good.
And leaves Justice in God’s hands.
About this poem
In the New Testament book of Romans chapter twelve, the apostle Paul describes what love in action is like, depicting it as Godly ethical responsibility that contrasts with the “deadly sins” of avarice, envy, wrath, dejection, boastfulness, haughtiness, and pride; obstacles that hinder human growth, development, completion, and fulfillment.
