Accustoming to the lies

I started doing that,
way back
accustoming to the lies.
Always aware,
pretend to not care, trying,
accustoming to the lies.
Swallowing the truth like pills,
accepted your lying so that the conversations would dismiss,
Did all! trying,
accustoming to the lies.
Wish I didn't accustom that day,
the things would have been better this day,
My heart would not have to be burdened with the knowledge of your sins,
and it could reminisce the good things.
But it cannot,
because once it tried accustoming to the lies,
and it did accustom,
not to the lying
but to the crying!

About this poem

I wrote this poem for everyone who is surrounded by some people who lie to them on regular basis. The feeling one experiences when a person lies to them and the person who is lied to knows that the other person is lying, but still that person who is lied to cannot say anything for the sake of everyone. Hope you like it and can relate to it if you ever experienced something like this!
