5 Senses Part 2

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

My fellow poets
May I ask you a question ?
About the 5 senses  that we have
Hear, see, touch, taste and smell !

If we could only have one
Which one would it be ?
Someone would say, none
I want my voice !

But what good is a voice
If you can't hear it ?
The hand sign language
Would make you hear !

Some would treasure their vision
As their choice,
To see the beauty of life
Would be sufficient for thee !

Who would pick touch ?
The holding of lover's hands
Is their choice,
Love's warmth is all I need !

Well what about taste ?
Would life be worth it
To eat food just to stay alive,
To never taste  a steak, a peach or jam on a bun !

Smell is the last but not the least,
The linger of  perfume is still remembered
The smell of freshly cut grass
Puts our imagination to work !

So what would I pick for my choice ?
We need them all to get the most out of life,
I will give you a hint
Just read the Bible - John 10 : 27,28 for my answer !
