Critical Race Theory

Oppressed, depressed, suppressed.
Led to a Nation of unrest
Shackled and chained
While going mentally insane
Captured and defeated, and led to a place without our history
Black and blue, bruised and beaten
From the Masters, From the Pastors
Taking our bodies, then our souls
A mass Exodus, led by Garvey
Then a slaughter, led by the US Army
Our leaders became martyrs
Our wealth and knowledge became bartered
How do we overcome
We were never welcome
Families torn and sold,
Again, our minds are unsettled
Peace is an illusion
Until my brothers and sisters reach the conclusion
The chains are no longer there on our bodies,
They run through our veins
Carrying the blood of the enslaved.
