Sprout

Head barely about
Very small and not nearly stout
A sprout
Not too much water but not a drought
A sign of life, no doubt
A sprout
Compared to others a flout
But through and throughout
A sprout
Very small, a speck, a gout
Yet we all start there, no doubt
A sprout
