Good Morning Britain
Bean13poetry 1987 (Birmingham)
Good Morning Britain
Poor poor paperboy,
Passing paper parcels pamphlets
and postcards
through peoples postal portals on his past prime person powered perambulator.
Purveyor of
populist propaganda,
periodical puff pieces,
and paparazzi promos pictures
for pennies.
Presumably planning his pittance, towards the next portable play station play thing, or taking that pretty
prepubescent,
Qpreteen,
prefect at school to the pictures.
Meanwhile Burly boisterous bin-men are busy
Bringing black bin bags back to the waiting wagon
Bad backs bring bad tempers as they are
Busy busting their backsides on bursting bags of gone bad bananas,
beer bottles,
broken bric a brac and
beloved but,
faded
forlorn
forgotten
old teddy bears
to left lamented
lost and lonley on landfill
They are Day Dreaming
of their big breaks in Benidorm
with beautiful
Beguiling
Bewitching
busty
blonde
bronzed
beach bodied
babes in bikinis
But in reality taking their
fake baked
Bemoaning
Belligerent
Barbarous
benson and hedges smoking
Wives
Their long suffering
ball busting
Old ball and chain
Memories of Mister Milkman
Making mornings
mild mannered and manageable
with a clink of a milk bottle
Masterful milk management
Gold top for Glendale
Blue top for Little Billy Braithwaite who always fights for the cream on top
And low Lactose for Lovely Long Legged Lois who always wears those
luminous lilac leggings
that fantastically frame her figure
The memories of a
million matriarchs
menopausal mothers
making madcap misguided plans in a melancholy moment
to make away with the nice mild mannered milkman with his
mysterious demeanour,
moderate muscles
and
marvellously
manicured
moustache
