Democratic Asthma

Engulfed in political cold

The democratic government has fold

Struggling for a fresh breath

As it has been denied of a good health.

The political race of democracy

Has made it a controversy

A feast of chameleons

Everyone a master of acts and colors

Politics has rendered democracy askew

Lincoln's definition of democracy

Has only become a theory

As it's not manifested practically

With the various executives

Using the legislative/judiciary aggregates

For their imperial interests

In spite of the representative's presence

Maybe I would have known no democracy

And lived under an autocracy

Rather than just hearing democracy

As a theory and visual fallacy

As politics has rendered democracy

An asthmatic patient

As it struggles every day for a good breath

To be perfectly practiced.

About this poem

This poem was inspired from a bleeding heart over the state of the democratic government especially in my country of residence.
