Life's Mystery Road

Walter Kielbowicz 1954 (Northampton, MA)

Life's Mystery Road

Let me show you the moon with all of its light
Let me show you the stars that glow in the night
We let them guide us from heaven above
But not all understand the message of love
The stars try to tell us what heaven may hold
But not to believe all we've been told
The moon tries to guide us on mystery roads
Past forests and swamps and croaking of toads
Thou night be not day and day not be night
We may not listen to those who are right
This road of travel is full of surprise
Till we open our eyes and see the sunrise
We may not understand the stars and the moon
As opposite as they are from our own high noon
Watch if we may as close as we can
For our very existence, it's where we began
Our journey of life as we know it now
And answers to questions, do we know how
To share life with others, not borrow of lease
For our guide be above us, let's live in peace
