TERROR REBORN

Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)

Terror is newly reborn
Within this loathsome place,
Where nothing worthwhile ever comes
And only monstrosities stay.

Every horror crawls toward
This Godforsaken town,
On a night when terror is reborn
And all goodness is kept down.

Creepers, crawlers, Babadook
All assist in evil's rebirth,
Manticores, griffins, egrigors
Fiends from all around the Earth.

On this night where evil rises
And nothing good can be allowed,
Kraken, Bunyips, El Chupacabra
Join in with the horrid crowd.

Sanity is now unknown
Upon this foul unhallowed ground,
Where goodness wisely hides indoors
And fiends from Hell soon abound.

Imps, Elves, gibbering Devils
All join in with all the evil crew,
Casting spells, and chanting loudly
While consuming a fetid brew.

Midnight is their chosen time
When every horror walks the land,
When Satan rises up again
Nothing dares defy his command

Evil rides out on this night
A night when goodness is sorely scorned,
A night when monsters walk the Earth
And terror is reborn.
