ode to water

Forgotten, replaced, necessary.
No one can live without you, but you are still ignored,
nothing can replace you, but you are still replaced,
we are you, everyone needs you, what a blessing to have you, blessing often forgotten.

Salt within you, a fool’s poison,
a sailors pathway and a Pirate’s getaway,
death awaits us at the bottom of your heart,
Davy Jones Locker,
all of you I can't withstand, and so I float above.

Clear distortion,
I see through you, but your visions are untrue
You blur my vision, you burn my eyes,
I see your crystal beauty, and I see what you hide,
faux cover, but your visions are untrue.

Envelope me and leave me sodden,
Can't walk or run, movement is limited,
I jerk and flail, i sink regardless,
like I'm sinking in tar,
Swim to maneuver through your waves,
tread to survive your depths,
Entertaining to splash around without care,
With you, in you.
