Analysis of True Test of Time

Twelve o' clock when I checked in
The fire cold, the lamp lit dim,
The room was warm despite the flame
Which once had roared and now was tame.

Twelve o' clock I took to rest
An open book across my chest,
And so it seemed or soon to be
The sleepers' dream I now would see.

Twelve o' clock I woke to rise
With clouds of dream drawn from my eyes,
However strange this sleep was though
For twelve o' clock the clock did show.

Twelve o' clock and bound to find
A selfish crime had stopped the time,
The question asked to answer true
On life depends all that you do.

Not twelve o' clock when I checked out
Not twelve o' clock without a doubt,
Not twelve o' clock I clearly see
At no point does time stop for me.
