Analysis of Moths Kiss

A moths kiss

A knowing smile
is what he gave you
a promise
as light as a moths kiss

the promise of a kiss
drew you in
the dark of the moths wing
a shadow of the sun

the sun with its promise
of dances and wine
of smiles and warmth
friendship and touch

so you opened your heart
and your arms
for the whisper of a promise
a future yet to come

A moth is of the night
no shining promise here
as he gently lands
upon likely ground

to sip on the nectar
of the allure
of the light
shining in a flowers gaze

there are many flowers here
as you sway to catch his eye
pick me
I am what you are looking for

but the moth will not stay
gone in the morning light
the promise of a kiss
as light as the dark of the night
