Analysis of A Shreveport State Of Mind

Dark skies follow you everywhere
Black is the color of life
In this den of theives
Red is the spectrum of night
If you're so fair
Then why am I so scared of your delights?

I lost my mind in Shreveport
Sleeping through the Sycamore silence
My dreams speak to me here
Under the shaded fields of Oak and Pine
This broken haze awakens every fear
How will escape tonight?

This mist covers your eerie heart
As the moss sparkles in the early morning shine
The dew srops from Southern flowers
When the Earth breaks beauty from Heaven's vine
Why is it so hard to leave Louisiana?

After Winter turns to Spring
Summer follows swiftly
As fast as the sun fades
The Autumn Fall gently goes away
Before the Hummingbirds sings
You'll find yourself in New Orleans
Lost in space in so many ways
Wondering
How does anyone evr get paid?

Lose your soul on that old brick road
To the Voodoo Queen on "Rampart Street"
that wicked drink will steal your home
If "Morris Bart" takes all your money with his double speak
They make all the weather change
So why are you so dead to me?

Kill your attitude on "Bourbon Street"
With a Shreveport shot of Whiskey

Drinking is all you think about
When you have to live this deep in the South

Eugene Hetler

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and that goes with Him. I read the Bible and pray daily. I try not to be judgemental but some days the fire comes out like a dragon burping a big gas fire on accident after a big meal. I love to write. Please read waht I write. I love to write things that encourage and hopefully are fun to read and make you laugh til you cry. I even like to write things that inspire and make you think in a deep way some of the time. Whoever's hacking my account and erasing my hard work is cheating me and the people who enjoy my work and it needs to stop or you'll suffer the consequences. :) more…
