Analysis of Selfishness

The choice you made was selfish
and it broke your mother's heart
to think that her own daughter
had chose to just depart..

As she spoke about the moment
you called and said those words
She spoke of how she trembled
to even speak a words..

When paramedics rescued
the life your mother gave
I saw all of the terror
from the choice that you had made.

So selfish was the action
to just give up and die
I am lost from all that's happened
the tears I cannot cry.

What I thought
was just a moment
of a lifetime we could share
but now I see the difference
that's far beyond compare..

I choose to step away
it's harder than I thought
for I cannot stand by waiting
For the life that you forgot.

Mental health is deeper
Then some can understand
they will never get to witness
the depth of its demand.

for when you drive
a broken road
you cannot see the bend
so reckless your decisions
When you crash from deep within.
