Analysis of Getting Old

I don't want a boring journey
or an invisible destination
I don't want delayed decisions
or procrastination.

I don't want a touch of sarcasm
or an argumentative word
I don't want a response of resentment
or an insult that I heard.

I don't want a life of worry
or a day that's full of stress
I don't want misguided direction
or a convoluted mess.

I don't want a negative opinion
or to receive some false advice
I don't want to buy a lemon
an unreliable device.

I don't want a wrong suggestion
or an unnecessary surprise
I don't want a long winded story
to constantly revise.

I don't want a squeaking door
or a window that doesn't close
I don't want a big list of jobs
or a constant leaking hose.

I don't want inconsistency
or a car that doesn't start
I don't want a nervous condition
that's not good for my heart.

I don't want to be opinionated
with a process of rescission
I don't want to hear it over again
like a repetitive rendition.

I don't want to create positivity
for someone to reject
I don't need a son or a daughter
that doesn't show respect.

I don't want a muffled sound
or a TV with bad reception
I don't want a loose attachment
A secure and tight connection.

I don't want my bank to rule
or a wayward institution
I don't want a wealthy conglomerate
to start a revolution.

I don't want a sudden emergency
Just an adjustment with each season
I don't want aggressive destruction
for no apparent reason.

I don't want a fake solution
or a long stubborn debate
I don't want a world of conflict
or leaders full of hate.

I don't want intimidation
or intentions of seduction
I don't want a world of war
or government corruption.

I don't want a lazy community
with answers of defiance
I don't want a reel of red tape
Regulations and compliance.

I don't need a grudge included
or a cheaper imitation
I don't want to be rejected
because of our relation.

I don't want a family life
that's volatile and explosive
I don't want a supporting structure
Unstable or corrosive.

I don't want to be convinced
by a manufactured law
I don't want uninvited intruders
knocking at my door.

I don't want a world of greed
Just things in moderation
I don't need an inferior fabric
that requires alteration.

I don't need another reminder
of something that's deceased
I don't want to walk to the post box
to find bills that have increased.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news
or to mend a broken heart
I don't need a selfish attitude
that splits two worlds apart.

I don't want to hear it twice
just once can be too much
I just want pure honesty
with a human touch.

So there's the things I don't want
and the things that need to cease
If we can just cooperate
to create a world of peace.

About this poem

This is a Poem about life. Slowly but surely as life goes on, we all become more particular in the things we do and want. As we get older, we get we have less tolerance and time in our lives to put up with those small grievances and finer details.
