Analysis of She Stares at Stairs
She still resides within the walls
Where childhood years took place.
Her mom still makes her nightly calls;
But Dad still leaves no trace.
Mom lives in a retirement home
Her daughter got the house.
It has two floors she used to roam;
Alone without a spouse.
She's still alone in her wheelchair
Now stuck on the first floor,
While mem'ries of her room upstairs
Calls out her name once more.
That's why she sits and stares each day
At stairs she used to climb.
That led to dreams now far away
When she was in her prime.
