Analysis of Sshhhhhh
Jodie Murphy 1978 (London)
Hide and seek, it’s not all bleak
I sometimes lay under the bed
Curl into a ball I don’t breathe to deep
It’s a place I feel quite warm.
I hide from me it separates we
In all our natural form
If I stop and think, try not to drink
Does hiding make sense at all
Hiding when mad hiding when sad
I hide even when I’m feeling glad
In a cupboard of secluded space it’s the look of disgust you’ll see on my face
I don’t want to be heard, don’t want to be found
Just want to hide from the whole wide world
Next time you walk past a bed just think underneath is the place I love best
It could sound cute and to some quite sweet
But I’m no longer a child playing hide and seek
I get some peace a place that’s safe
It’s nice it’s quiet
So sssshhhhhhh
