Analysis of PEACE

Peace, peace, peace.
Is what the mouth speaks of
But the heart speaks of its irony
For thou who drinks from the blood of its flesh, living the souls helpless at the other world
Walking and weeping helplessly at their world

Though they get what they want through stillborn promises
And when it is granted it still remains a stillborn promise
Oh! the stillborn promises of yesterday, today and years to come
When will thou be fulfilled?

Though they do and get whatever they want
But forgetting that the supreme being rules over all
And all will be answerable to him.

About this poem

The first stanza in the poem is written to explain the current situation of my country nigeria. We live in a country where our leaders and politicians preach peace but do the opposite of what they preach.they feed on the blood of there followers/citizens just to get back at there rivals. The second stanza speaks about the fake promises the ruling parties and there rivals make just to gain power and satisfy there selfish interest, making the promises a stillborn that are not fulfilled The last stanza is a reminder to them about our creator and maker (God) who is the ruler of all and watching them so therefore they will surely get there reward from the supreme being.
