Analysis of Dance in the Rain
Why are rainy days and Mondays so sad?
They will be what you want them to be
You can greet them with despair or be glad
It is up to you their beauty to see
The gracefulness of the dance
As rain pelts upon your face
Emits thoughts at a mere glance
That quieten a stormy space
Stinging, tingling flashes
Each raindrop ensues
Dance on your eyelashes
Washing away the blues
Run, jump, feel the rain
Lifting spirits at the time
Splash, laugh, through the pain
To warm the heart like sunshine
When it rains on a Monday
The day is cleansed and refreshed
Setting the stage for Tuesday
And a week truly blessed
Okay, Monday, let's do this!
Think smiles, think fabulous
The power of Monday's bliss
Makes the week marvelous
As emotion amasses
Find the love, seal the romance
Prize each moment that passes
Feel the rain, enjoy the dance... even on a Monday!

About this poem
A rainy Monday in Georgia reminded me of The Carpenters' hit tune Rainy Days and Mondays. Playing the tune, I watched and listened as the rain pounded the tin roof. This brief encounter with the rain on a Georgia afternoon provided inspiration for Dance in the Rain.
