Analysis of Longing

An empty vessel never filled
Without use, without value
Existing without substance or sustenance
Hungry, thirsty for something unknown
At odds with the world like water to oil
In search of connection but denied

Oh the wasted years of wishful thought
And missing actions
Spring buds now autumn leaves rotting
Anger, rage in the storms of my mind
Longing for my time, my place, my worth
My calm
