Fisherman'S bend

Strolling on a pebble dirt path to what do my eyes see
Small puddled islands descending to the fisherman's bend
Perched under a willow tree, nearby the creek's muddy bank
Got out my bag of lifeless shrimp, becoming obviously rank
I grabbed my pole, baited my hook on a durable 10lb line
Gonna be an enticing good meal for a fish who loves to dine

Six string guitar holds my hand on this warm chipper day
Bullfrogs chime in sync, my limber fingers softly play
The whistling wind assists a horde of blackbirds over the ridge
Sheathed in a warm blanket of ivy vines, growing vigorously wild
Oh, how relaxing, the stillness within, is tastefully mild

A nurturing cool breeze gracefully girdles my heart-n-soul
As nightfall charges in mosquitos to assault my fishing hole
Bountiful trees flutter in the midst of the twilight's swift air
Attempts to carry me, directing my eyes to a view over there
Out yonder, the brisk waters rush over the mossy clad rocks
Darkness spill, geese tower in columns, journey into flocks
