Poets

Poets

When the thoughts come rippling by
From your window-watching or sky-gazing
Or from the haunting memories of past
Of dry blue eyes, wry smiles and thawing hearts

When your imagination breaks out
Like that of a prisoner escaping
Like that of a river flooding
Exploding the nous and norms
When your wit climbs up to celestial dimensions
Of bitter truths and sweet lies
When you are dumbfounded by nature's mystery
Or by its alluring beauty
You can't help but wake up a pen
From its slumber,from the limbo
Take hold of it
And make it ready for some crazy dance steps
Then it's time you harvested your vocabulary
From the mighty realm of words
You pick out the best suited ones
To make it gloomy or gleaming
Awaits the empty sheets of paper
Where you spill the words
Letter by letter
As the pen dances gracefully
As if the sheets were the stage
Awaits the vast canvas of sky
Where you paint the words in pictures
In different hues
In different vibrant colours
Consequently, giving them a life
To your thoughts
To your bygone imagination
And to your cunning wit
Like a sculptor does
Like a painter does
Like you do
Like i do
Like WE poets do
