Prayer

Oh, univ’rse vast, hear my plea,
A humble prayer I send to thee.
Flaws and stumbles, mistakes made,
In your forgiving light, let them fade.

In moments galore, faltered I, true,
Lost my way, strayed from what I knew.
Hurts caused, tears shed,
May I ask for forgiveness, for stead.

The tapestry of life, woven with fragile thread,
Blurring right and wrong, where I've tread.
In lessons learned and bridges burn’d,
May grace be given, in your wisdom earn’d.

Grant me strength to mend and heal,
To seek renewal, to truly feel.
May forgiveness flow like a cleansing stream,
Washing away remorse, as in a dream.

Guide my steps with a forgiving hand,
Help me rise, to firmly stand.
From flaws and failings, I now break free,
A better self, I aspire to be.

Mani S. Kavuru

Words and writing have always interested me, but the transition now is from scientific writing (which is based on logic and the rational) to a more emotive, lyrical form. At present this remains an experiment to see if I can strike the right tone, elicit a desired effect, etc. Full disclosure: I have been utilizing chatGPT as an "assistant"; I provide the prompts, edit extensively, yet the structure is provided by my assistant. I take full responsibility for the end result. Not that dissimilar to work on a scientific project in the lab, etc. more…
