Hi, my name is Ashlie Rae Dawn Barstad. I have been writing poetry since I was 10 years old. When I lost my grandfather to cancer, I wrote my first poem to help me through morning his passing. I learnt very easily how to use my natural talent to express myself as a child through poetry. I was able to use my writing to help me over come many of the horrifying life events that were often beyond my control. Some experiences were much worse then others, and some of my experiences were great and lead to some of most inspiring work. The best triumphs and happy moments of my life as well, allowed me to create a positive piece of literature that maybe one day, could save someone's life.I am an outgoing going person with dreams that have no limits, no boundaries. I graduated high school with perfect marks in English lit and creative art classes. I am a soulful young woman who loves to write every day, sometimes 4 or 5 times a day. I write mostly poetry, but I also have been a song writer since I was 14 as well.I also write detail pieces, magazine articles, thesis's, opinionated pieces, short stories, bio's, artist spotlights, research papers, and I intend to revisit an idea for a novel sometime this year. Along with being an extremely active writer-I am extremely adventurous, patient, spiritual, and creative in every possible way.
