I Remember

I remember your scent
The aroma that still lingers in my bed

I remember kissing you down your spine
Softly, slowly taking my time

Your touch was gentle and warm
You made me feel what I’ve never felt before

These intangible memories I keep alive that torture my heart and mind.

The need to move on and heal seem distant in time.

Why does my foolish heart hold on?  
When the best that we had is gone.

This torment is insane. I feel as though I loved in vain.   

I’m living vicariously through a memory.
I ask myself why.

I decided to love myself more and live in today’s time.

I decided to love myself unconditionally
Heal myself be real to myself

No one will love you the way you do.
To know love is to self love.
