The Light of Life

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
God called the light day and the darkness he called night.
And there was evening and there was morning; the first day.
He asked me, “What do you see?”
I answered, I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top.
And seven lights on it, with seven channels to the lights.
“(These seven are the eyes of the Lord, which range throughout the earth.)”

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders.
He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
I Jesus have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches.
I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
