The Void Left Behind”

A hole in my heart, a spot in my soul
A gap thus deep, a toll thus full
The void left behind, an empty area
Where you once were, currently simply a trace


I try and fill it, to fix the tear
But nothing will replace, nothing will clear
The emptiness that lingers on
The love that's gone, the bond that's gone

 
I miss your smile, your laugh, your touch
The reminiscences, the moments, and the love that was abundant
But all that continues to be is that the void left behind
A reminder of you, a wound of the mind


I would like to flip back the time
To have you with me, to create everything fine
But all I will do is try and go
To live with the void, to stay holding on
