What makes a man

Snips and snails and puppy-dog tails,
from which, I hear,
a little boy hails.
High fives and cheers between heart-broken tears,
from which some say:
a young man appears.
Slippers that flop and a bald-headed top;
Old men, I’ve heard, shall make up this crop.
But what then of men? That time in between,
Of young and old,
this remains to be seen.
But, here’s what I’ve learned from life herein,
of things combined,
that make men, real men:
Strength and stance, atop feet that dance,
love and support and sweet romance.
Suits and Collars and smarts like scholars,
rich or poor,
no matter the dollars,
Arms of steel and a heart of gold, embracing eyes,
let the truth be told;
Quick wit with a smile and a heart so true,
What makes a man?
(So grateful am I)
To learned it from you.
