The Beach

I’ve always felt so safe at the beach
A whole world and ecosystem just within reach
I know it might seem a bit basic
But on days that I feel quite sick
The ways have their ways of speech
“Stay for a while and relax”, they preach
So with the Ice cream, I lick
My favorite place, the beach
To all of my stains, its like bleach
Writing about the waves, my favorite figure of speech
Without it I would feel homesick
So wherever I go I hope I can at least sit in the sand and have a picnic
When i'm there all my worries come to a stop with a screech
My favorite place, the beach

About this poem

A few months ago, I had a terrible day and had to be picked up from school early. I'm very grateful that my mom bought something to eat and took me to the beach to calm down and reflect. So I wanted to thank her and the ocean for helping me that day.
