The Love of Jesus

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The sweetest words I’ve ever heard
My loved one said I love You
As I look down from heaven
Let Me say I’m not above you

One day you shall be like Me
As we’re speaking face to face
And I will be delighted
With the warmth of your embrace

I know I said I love you too
But that was not enough
So let Me show you how I love
For Me that won’t be tough

I gave up My own life for yours
So you could truly know Me
I know you’ll do the same for Me
So you can somehow show Me

The depth of your commitment
To the vows that we have made
I always will be with you
So our love won’t be delayed
