THE PRINCESS OF THE DUSK

It’s the time for the farewell
Of the gleaming sun’s duty,
But not for the young maiden,
The lassie with unspeakable beauty.

As the sun turns to say goodbye,
It gleams like a ruby jewel, not small,
Placed on the throat of the evening sky,
Its golden rays sparkling all the way they fall.

Sitting by herself all alone,
Far away from the busy throng,
Alone in the nature’s lap, she doesn’t moan,
For she has a secret love strong.

As the red and auburn rays
Of the blissful, setting sun
Shower onto the beauty’s face,
Her features light up, awaiting the fun.

Awaiting the fun which
Her choice of love would bring
To an unsettling romantic snitch
Just like a newly heralded spring.

The golden haired maiden
Under the shade of a young tree
With flowers of honey laden,
Sits on and on waiting for thee.

Waiting for him, who would
Surely meet her by the lake, in the twilight,
On whose bank the lassie had
Kept her feet to wait inspite.

Inspite of the tears
She endures for her hard life,
For the beauty she is,
Everyone desires her for a wife.

But she is true to her heart and husk,
True to her choice of love,
And thus she waits till the dusk
By the side of the lake, looking at a dove.

Her breath warmer than the grass beneath,
He looks cooler than the morning dew,
Her beauty more spotless than a full moon,
And herself fragile than a glass doll anew.

Even as the sun sets,
Throwing its luster everywhere,
The place of her presence gets
Even more glary and glamour.

And thus comes the dusk along
With all the colour of night
Spreading off without taking the time along
And welcomes cool breezes with all its might.

Waiting for her truthful life mate grand,
The little princess waits in an elated husk
For him to behold the hand
Of this princess of the dusk.
