Ricardo Caputo

They all loved him once upon a time….
A handsome man with dark eyes,
An even darker side to his Latin charisma.
He made a fascinating impression
On every woman he met
And slowly became, for each of them, their man.
What did they see in him?
It's hard to tell, It could be the looks
Of a handsome young man,
Or just simply they were looking for love,
As he once did.
Or maybe they sought someone who’d say "I love you,"
When they needed to hear those words.
Whatever the reason was it doesn't matter today,
After they met him and fell for him,
He changed his bearing,
To become a possessive man and very insecure
Until all women were afraid and tried to leave him.
And now they're all dead.
His name is Ricardo Caputo,
A man with the face of a Latin lover,
Who spotted his victims,
When they all desperately sought love,
And fed them stories to make them feel sorry for him,
And, when they did,
They opened their hearts to him.
They all loved him and, for that, they all died
And Ricardo was their executioner.

Thank you very much, but mostly I should thank to Linda Wolfe an author of a book" Dance with me to Death" based on true story one of the biggest crime case before OJ in 70's/80's, she inspire me to this poem. Usually everyone talk about the crime and criminal and where is a victims, who's remember them?
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago

This is a marvelous story that starts off leading my imagination in one direction and abruptly pops it into high gear and makes a gnarly left. I mean what the heck? But that's the way it is with those "killers." If you thought they were killers, you wouldn't let them get that close. You made the reader walk in the shoes of the victims in this one. Lovingly put together with a wonderful shock at the end. Good work.

I love this poem!! it's very good but I sincerely hope it isn't a true story. I love how you write, but I think it could use some more imagery. Other than that it was wonderful!
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago
Jessica it is true story, I read a book "Love me to Death", by I believe Linda Wolfe. It was a huge case before OJ Simpson from 70' 'til late 80' he was on "Most Wanted" list. Thank you for your comment.

I feel like we all meet individuals like this, but not to this extent. Nicely put together, try going even deeper, and let your emotions out. The poem is informational, but not emotional... make me feel it with you. You used a full name... I hope this is not a true story, if so, you are BRAVE!
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago
Thank you and you right I am brave I am not hiding by someone else name it's mine and I'm not afraid to critic, this the only way to get better in writing. By the way this poem it's a true store I read a book "Love me to Death" this is a crime novel and I got an inspired ) As far deeper an emotion, if this site allow me share with a world one of my poem then I will write one of my erotic and I can guarantee you plenty of an emotions:)

I think its too specific, it need more metaphors and imagery
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago
I did it that in purpose I am concentrating on him, but it is more like a prose and tribute to a women no one remember them and they should be remember just a thought
Tochukwu Esq More than 1 year ago
Interesting.
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago
Thanks. Once again I am not trying to honor him, he was a brutal killer read by the lines, I'm talking about women is a tribute to them, because no one ever remember victims.
Ruth Courtney More than 1 year ago
it's good it sticks to the plot of it but lacks character
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago
Ok as long you like something this is a plus, by the way I don't like the ending because this is true story.
david More than 1 year ago
I was not sure if it was the man or his lover I was supposed to know about ... it was the man about his lovers, or lovers about the man. I wanted a single focus to hang my hate or sorrow and there was no where for that ... I let the poem there, but in my heart carried a great respect for the poet, because the talent echoed powerful things to come (or has already done). A great magician of words.
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago
Thanks David good advice although it wasn't easy poem to write for me from the benining, because i want to stay close as possible to truth about him and believe me he was even worst then that it is what is...lol Love story is much easier to write that's for sure.
Nick Riganas More than 1 year ago
great take on another heartbrake poem, enjoyed the twist in the style, even though the topic has been written to death on here.
Edyta Greta Lapinski More than 1 year ago
Thanks, well I just put nothing but truth on a paper . I might have fascination about criminals mind, but here was more likely nothing but tribute for those women it my not sounds like that, now thanks this lady book years ago and my poem now how many people again might goggle his name (his real person) or read her book and their picture get to know then, their lives and family, like I did? "Love to Death" Linda Wolfe
