How do I register on Lulu Poetry?
Go to the Registration page. Fill out the form with your username, valid email address, and password.
Personal information is stored in our secure database, and we won't share it with third parties except under limited and necessary circumstances.

Click the Sign Up button. Once you sign up, you can submit and rate poems, and enter poems into Lulu Poetry’s contest.
How can I access my poems from the old poetry site?
To access your account, you will first need to update your registration. Go to the Registration page and click the Claim your profile link.
Enter the email address that you used to register on the old site and click the Claim button. Instructions will be emailed to your account.
Can I merge poems from multiple accounts?
Unfortunately accounts cannot be merged. If you want to have all of your poems in one account, you will need to cut and paste from one account into another and the delete the poems from the old account.
How can I change my password?
To update your password, first log in to the site and then click the Account link at the top of the page. Next, select the Edit button. From here, you will be able to enter and confirm a new password. When you are finished, click the Update button.
What should I do if I lost my password?
Go to the login page and select “click here to reset”. You can then enter your email address and click the Submit button. Instructions on how to reset your password will be emailed to you.
How do I update my biography on Lulu Poetry?
To update your profile, log in to the site and click the Account link at the top of the page. Next, select the Edit button. From here, you will be able to update your name, email, password, biography, and PayPal information. When you are finished, select the Update button.
Why do you ask for my PayPal email address?
Prizes for winning the Poetry Contest are paid through PayPal (www.paypal.com). Providing your PayPal email address in your account information helps Lulu Poetry to award prizes quickly and efficiently, if you win the Daily, Monthly, or Annual Contest. This information is kept confidential and will only be used to pay contest prizes. For more information about contest prizes, please read our official contest rules.

How can I get my poems posted on Lulu Poetry?
Click here to enter a poem. Everyone who submits a poem to our contest online is immediately published on our web site. After your poem is posted on Lulu Poetry, you will be able to view and edit your poem at any time.
How do I find my poem on Lulu Poetry?
The best way to locate your poems is to visit your profile page. After you log in, click the blue “Account” link at the top right of the page. This will take you to your profile and a list of your poems.
Advanced search allows you to more easily find specific poems by searching by the poem's title, author, or content... or you can search by all three! Just click the "Advanced Search" link on the top right of the page. Then enter the title, author name, or content in the appropriate field and click "Search".
If you were a member of www.poetry.com before our site update in August 2009, you will probably need to Claim your profile in order to log in.
How can I remove my poetry from this site?
To remove your poetry from Lulu Poetry, log in to the site and click the Account link at the top of the page. Click on the title of the poem you would like to remove, and then the Delete Poem link. Click the Ok button to confirm you would like to remove the poem, and your account will be updated immediately.
How can I edit my poem?
Log in to the site and click the Account link at the top of the page. Click on the title of the poem you would like to edit, and then the Edit button. Make changes to your poem and then click the Update Your Poem button. Your changes will appear on the web immediately.
How do I find out my poem’s current rating?
To view your poem’s average rating and the number of readers who have rated your poem, log in to the site and view your poem. The rating is shown on to the right of your poem.
What are tags?
Tags are words or short phrases used to help readers find your poems more easily in search. You can add tags to a new poem, or while editing an old poem, by typing the tag name in the Tags field. Separate multiple tags on the same entry with a comma (eg: "roses, red, love, flowers")

How do you select the Poem of the Day?
The Poems of the Day are selected from the poems uploaded to the site based on a number of factors, including appropriateness for the home page.
What is the Leader Board?
The Leader Board shows poems with the highest ranking on the site. It is updated daily.
How do I rate a poem?
To rate a poem, you must be logged into a registered Lulu Poetry account. When viewing any poem on Lulu Poetry you will notice a “Rate this Poem” box to the right of the content. You may rate any poem on a scale of 1-10 by selecting a numeric value and clicking the “Submit Your Vote” button. After voting, you will see the poem’s average rating and the number of other readers who have rated the poem.
Is there a charge to feature my poem on Lulu Poetry?
There is no charge to upload and display your poem on Lulu Poetry.
How does Lulu Poetry protect their poets’ privacy?
We believe in keeping your confidential information just that--confidential. Please refer to our Privacy Policy (http://www.poetry.com/privacy-policy/) for more details.
Why is my poem showing up Google searches?
Lulu Poetry publishes submitted poems on the web as a free service so that our poets may see their work and share it with others all over the world. Google, Yahoo or other 3rd party searches are based on indexes that those sites make of the information available online. They update those indexes frequently, but Lulu cannot control when the search will be updated. If your poem has been removed from Lulu Poetry, any link from Google or Yahoo should redirect to the Lulu Poetry home page. Eventually, the index will be updated and your poems will not be listed. If your poem has not yet been removed from Lulu Poetry but you would like to do so, this can be updated online. See, How can I remove my poetry from this site?.

Poetry Contests
How does the contest work?
Every poem that is submitted to Lulu Poetry is entered in the Daily, Monthly, and Annual contests. Poems must be original works and adhere to the Lulu Poetry Membership Agreement.
Lulu Poetry’s judges select contest winners, but the community picks the poems that the judges will review. Judges review the top 10% of poems that have the highest ranking by the
community. A poem’s ranking is based both on average rating and the number of votes the poem has received.

How do I know if I won the contest?
Contest winners will be notified by email within 5 business days of winning the daily, monthly, or annual contest, and a list of winners will be posted in the Poetry Blog.
How many contest winners are chosen?
One contest winner will be selected each day for the $25 daily prize.
One winner will be selected per month for the $250 monthly prize.
One winner will be selected per year for the $5000 annual prize.
When is the annual $5000 Grand Prize awarded?
The annual $5000 Grand Prize is chosen from among all of the highest rated poems each year. The prize is awarded each February for the previous year. The annual Grand Prize winner is also notified by email and posted on our website.
Are there any costs to participate in the contest?
There is no fee whatsoever to enter the poetry contest.
