Even The Strong Need To Cry

Life gives and life takes away
How to survive each lonely day
Feelings are pushed deep down
Smiling when life makes us frown

Life pitches a slight curve ball
Remaining strong and giving our all
This is what the strong tend to do
All the...

Complete Emptiness

None of the local bars open, with beer swilling
None of the eateries open, with stomachs filling
No one asking, please add more coffee to my cup
No conversations starting, sun slowly coming up
This becomes the scene, day after long day

Though I do not share the pain of losing a child, I do share the pain of losing someone who's story still consisted of several more unwritten chapters. My sister passed away suddenly and my nephew passed away at the early age of only 28. It becomes the hardest task to just get up and live each day knowing they are not around. This poem was perfectly written and the story needed to be shared of just how to carry on.

I grew up in an old house next to a large field. The birds chirped every spring in the trees just outside our kitchen window. Next to that window was our kitchen sink, where my mom would stack and wash the dishes every day. My mother passed away a long time ago, but that poem, beautifully written, brought back all my memories of her at that kitchen sink every night. Thank you for bringing my mother back to my thoughts.

Strong words that form images in my mind. I thought about my recent loss of my sister and how much I long to just have here close to me again. At the same time, I know that where she is now, she is still protecting her little brother. Thank you for those memories that your words processed within my mind.

When I read, Buffon's Beauty, instantly I thought about those people, or animals who attempt to cling to their final moments of live as God is calling them home. The final moments are fleeting and eluding them as they begin their final breathe. Amazing poem.
